Tina has been part of the Canadian film, television and stage scene for over 30 years as an award winning actress, writer, producer & director. She completed Ryerson University FIlm Studies and is an alumnus of Academy Award Winner Norman Jewison's CFC ( Canadian Film Centre.) Over the years, film critics have dubbed Tina "a driving force" & "visionary," creating works of "faith and healing." Her TV directing debut "Rumi - Turning Ecstatic," had its World Broadcast Premiere on VISION TV January 2006. Since then, it has been translated into 3 languages & programmed in over 19 countries, including a special invite to the United Nations in 2007. It was the recipient of a "Best Direction Award" at the Brilliant Light Film Festival (2007) Los Angeles ,was selected for "Best of Indies .com ( 2007) and was given a THUMBS UP ! review in the San Francisco Chronicle movie section (2007). Tina conceived, wrote and produced a half hour documentary entitled "Animating the Golden Rule" a captivating journey through the world's various faith traditions through music, rap and drama - as animated by grade 10 and 11 youth. Scarboro Foreign Missions was the Executive Producer. It premiered at the United Nations NYC & was awarded "Best Short International Film" at the Interfaith Harmony Film Festival in Los Angeles ( 2013). Nelson Publishing, Canada's premiere textbook publisher, licensed excerpts from the film for their Teachers Resource Guide 2010 World Religion Textbook. She is co-author of "The Golden Rule Guidebook" for educators and is an accredited juror for The Coalition for Quality Children's Media. Both projects were represented by Boutique educational distributor " CHOICES VIDEO" out of Los Angeles, CA. Earlier short films include "Secret Survivors" 1994 (Rendezvous with Madness Festival- Official Selection)and "Grandview the Lost Years ( Golden Sheaf Award) 1992. Tina partnered with Canadian Fashion Icon Linda Lundstrom to produce a film tribute to women, body image & fashion "Authentic Women- Real Bodies, Real Beauty, Real Lives." Currently released- a feature length Documentary she developed about the Pain Epidemic in North America www.painwarriorsmovie.com When not teaching or making films, she is an advocate on the issue of Chronic Pain. Tina's illustrated children' s book "Krista-link-a-la and the Size 13 Shoes" is available on Amazon.
